July 2009 We are just in the process of finishing up a series of Public Service Announcements for the California State Controller's Office. These PSAs are to be distributed throughout California to commerical and public television broadcasters to highlight the unclaimed property program and to encourage people to log on to the Controller uncliamed proptery website or call the Controller's office to find out if you have unclaimed property. May 2009 WOW! If you are a geek you will love some of the stuff we video taped and streamed for the Open Fabric Alliance. There was a time long ago when we were engaged in the world of high performance computing, supercomputing and high speed I/O. Our crew found this to be one of our more interesting assignments. Super Geeks from all over the world descended upon the Lodge at Sonoma for this three day workshop on very high performance computing. Check out some of the sessions yourself.

March 2009 We are pleased to welcome Kraft Foods to our family of happy customers. Kraft Foods is using Video Streaming Services broadcast services and live streaming publishing points to broadcast community outreach activities across all of North America. These broadcasts are designed to create new online communities of interest and contribute to the development of new community projects such as playgrounds and other community use projects.

January 2009 HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL. Video Streaming Services had a record breaking year in 2008. Many thanks to all of our customers far and wide. We are pleased to announce that Video Streaming Services is now providing live streaming services to eighteen television channels across the United States. We added three of those in the month of December. some of these stations are seeing traffic loads as high at 3000 concurrent video viewers. November 2008 Video Streaming Services has been selected by the California Department of Education (CDE) and Soutwest Online to support a months long effort to record, edit, post produce, host and broadcast over the Internet more than two dozen different video training modules for both live and archive Internet video streaming delivery. CDE will save thousands of dollars in travel costs and be able to deliver a consistent message to all of the school districts statewide as a result of this contract award. This project will also include the ability of trainees to interact with trainers during live broadcasts and to allow CDE to insure that all of the training is consistent throughout.

October 2008 The nominees for best independently produced Sacramento film are in! A Place Called Sacramento premiers on Sunday October 05, 2008 at the Crest Theater in downtown Sacramento, CA. September 2008 Video Streaming Services has completed production of a live event for the California Energy Commission, Cal EPA and The California Resources Agency. The Fifth Annual California Climate Change Conference was broadcast live over the Internet by VideoSSC from multiple locations within the Sacramento Convention Center September 8-10. Viewed by thousands of people on the Internet over the three days of the conference, VideoSSC was told that the conference and our video production and streaming services were,"an unequivocal success". September 2008 Video Streaming Services has begun production on a live broadcast television show. TECHLEADER.TV will begin broadcasting this week its live interview television show from our broadcast studios in downtown Sacramento. We are providing the studio, set, lighting, sound, cameras and operators, directors and titles. This show been picked up by one local broadcaster from our studios, but Video Streaming Services will stream this live broadcast on the Internet allowing TECHLEADER.TV to reach a much larger national audience. You can tune in on Television or see the broadcast live by clicking on these links at the following times:

May 2008 Video Streaming Services will be streaming live on the Internet a debate between the candidates currently running for the office of Mayor of the City of Sacramento, California. The debate will be held at Sacramento City College in the Auditorium there. In addition to providing a live Internet webcast, we will be providing a live feed to news organizations who wish to capture this event for their own news services. We provide lighting, audio support, three TV cameras, a live producer and computer graphics for this broadcast.

April 2008 Video Streaming Services has been selected broadcast a live video conference for the members of the CalSTRS Board. We have been asked to provide a two way live satellilte link between the CalSTRS boardroom in Sacramento and our studios in Washington D.C. This live webinar gave the board members of CalSTRS the opportunity to have a conversation with one of CalSTRS investment advisors.

March 2008 Video Streaming Services has been selected to support the California Department of Water Reources in their flood management operations. This long term contract was competitively obtained by Video SSC in support of live Internet weather broadcasts performed on a regular basis by DWR. VideoSSC provides the equipment as well as the customized streaming services that allow the concurrent broadcasting of both video and computer screen images in the same desktop window. January 2008 Video Streaming Services announces the award of a contract from the California State Controllers office. We have been competitively selected to provide turnkey video production services in support of the unclaimed property program which seeks to return items of value to people across the state. VideoSSC is providing filming, scripting, editing and post production services to produce a series of Public Service Announcements about the program.

November 2007 Video Streaming Services has been contracted with by the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) to provide live satellite video conferencing services. We are providing C and Ku band satellite services that include both a live audio and video two way communications to support various conferencing requirements for the CalSTRS board of directors. The first of these broadcasts on November 1st will allow CalSTRS board members to confer with former Vice President Al Gore.

November 2007 Video Streaming Services announces the addition of two more television channels to our list of turnkey streaming services customers. Sparks, Nevada television channels 15 and Washoe County, Nevada Public Access Channel 17 are being turned up and going live on the Internet this week. Video Streaming Services is delivering, 24 x 7 streaming on the Internet for both of these TV channels.

September 2007 Two video streaming issues of some note have appeared in the press in recent days. For those of you on the cutting edge of streaming technology these issues may be important. First, Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system has a bug that can significantly impact streaming video performance. It is a hard coded bug in the operating system. Microsoft engineers are working on a fix. You can read more about this by clicking here.
Secondly, YouTube users are reporting in droves a problem getting videos to reliably load and stream from the YouTube site. We have tested and confirmed that the loading/streaming problem as reported is accurate. You can read more about it by clicking here

October 2007 Video Streaming Services Company has been nominated for a Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) award in the catagory of professional documentaries. This nomination is a direct result of the work that Video Streaming Services Company did in producing a documentary video on the history of the California Department of Health Services. The WAVE awards recognize excellence in community media production and operations within the Western States Region of the Alliance for Community Media.
