VideoSSC wins two new State contracts

Posted by:

We’ve been busy and away on vacation. It seems that every time that we go on vacation something good happens. This time we were notified that we won two new major contracts from State of California Government agencies.

The California State Lands Commission. Established in 1938, the Commission manages the state’s 4 million acres of tidelands and submerged lands and the beds of navigable rivers, streams, lakes, bays, estuaries, inlets, and straits. These lands, often referred to as sovereign or public ...

How to do a three camera shoot with one camera

Posted by:

The headline is correct. There is a way to combine the capabilities of some video switchers with a single HD video camera to create the impression of a three or four camera shoot. We did it yesterday for a live broadcast. The results are quite impressive…

How do you make a single camera look like four different cameras? You a need only two things using mature existing technology to make this happen: an HD video camera with an SDI output, and ...

Broadcasting to large local audiences

Posted by:

We were asked to live broadcast the memorial services for two sheriff’s deputies on two consecutive days last week. The largest church in the region could not handle the over capacity crowds. There was a problem however. None of the adjunct rooms on the ...

Actually in this case it is probably even worse. The Obama administration may not even care if they find an injured party to justify their desire to regulate something that they do not currently regulate. The Internet since its creation has been largely self regulating. ...

Finally a Video Storage calculator

Posted by:

AJA makes great products for capturing and processing video. We use some of these products and they are bullet proof. But we noticed recently that AJA has now come out with a free app to support video storage calculations. Did we mention that it’s free? We have done these calculations on the backs of napkins in the past and we have made mistakes in our calculations. This little app can be configured for video densities all the way up to ...

Live Video Preproduction Planning

Posted by:

Oh my gosh! What have I forgotten? My company’s live video broadcast is next week and I am not sure that I have everything covered! It could be a disaster if I forget something! What do I do?

We don’t hear this very much when we are involved with a client in preproduction planning for a live video broadcast, but that is because we are involved. As the broadcaster you must be involved in advance, but what questions are important?  It ...
